The circus is coming to town, but in the more elegant form of "cirque," featuring the amazing aerial flyers, acrobats, contortionists, dancers, jugglers, balancers, and strongmen of Cirque de la Symphonie!

Back by popular demand after sell-out performances in 2009, they perform with the RPO for one acrobatic evening only—but with ALL NEW performances customized for our own Jeff Tyzik and the RPO!

Bring your entire family – kids 12 and under are FREE on the lawn at CMAC!

You’ll have a chance to watch many of the best Cirque artists in the world—including world record holders, gold-medal winners, and Olympians—as they literally drop into CMAC, right above the orchestra as it performs live. Click here to view a video of Cirque de la Symphonie.

You’ll hear selections from Carmen, Swan Lake, The Firebird, and John Williams’ scores to Harry Potter: The Sorcerer’s Stone and Star Wars: Attack of the Clones, among others. Click here to see the full program for the concert.

Before the show, enjoy an early dinner in downtown Canandaigua at Simply Crepes, which is offering RPO patrons a complimentary appetizer—your choice of Sweet Crepe Chips or Savory Crepe Chips. Eastman School Concerts Feature Next Generation of Conductors & Pianists

Kilbourn Hall

The RPO’s partnership with the Eastman School of Music will expand this summer, with the RPO performing as part of both the Eastman Summer Conducting Institute and the Eastman Young Artists International Piano Competition.

On Thursday, July 22 at 7:30 pm at Kilbourn Hall, you’ll have a chance to experience the next generation of orchestral conductors as up to five of the Summer Conducting Institute finalists lead the RPO. Eastman Professor of Conducting Neil Varon leads the five-day session, which culminates in this special concert. As a concertgoer, you will be invited to share your feedback about each young conductor.

Then on Saturday, August 7 at 7:30 pm at Hochstein, catch the rising young stars of a new generation of pianists. For the first time in the history of this competition, the five finalists will play a concerto with your RPO—and then the winners of cash prizes and scholarships to the Eastman School will be announced! Neil Varon conducts. Click here for the full piano competition schedule.

Tickets for both concerts are available by calling 454-2100, or use this link to purchase online.
