RPO's Campaign Goal Bonus Extended for Two Weeks
July 03, 2006
Less than 3% left to go
Rochester, NY– The Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra has announced that it has less than 3% left to reach its Annual Campaign goal of $2.16 million. The anonymous donor who promised a generous bonus of $150,000 on reaching the goal is thrilled with the progress, and has extended the bonus deadline until Friday, July 14th. With only approximately $62,000 to go, the RPO has received donations from nearly 7000 individuals and corporations in the form of first time and additional gifts as well as renewals, surpassing last year’s numbers at this same time.
The Orchestra is returning from another successful six-concert summer residency at the Bravo! Vail Valley Music Festival. Eugenia Zuckerman, the Festival’s Artistic Director, as well as internationally-known flutist, author, teacher and television commentator, has announced that next summer’s special 20th anniversary will again feature the RPO with two other world-class orchestras: the Philadelphia Orchestra and the New York Philharmonic. In this week’s podcast with WXXI’s Music Director Julia Figueras, Ms. Zuckerman referred to the RPO as “just so extraordinary, so unique, [and] they play with so much energy and so much enthusiasm, it’s a real thrill.”
Rochester audiences can hear the RPO’s summer season beginning on July 7 at SUNY Geneseo, followed a day later by the four Saturday concert series at the new Constellation Brands-Marvin Sands Performing Arts Center (CMAC) on July 8, with many more summer appearances throughout the month. To donate, please call (585) 454-7311, x247, visit www.rpo.org to give online (secure transaction), come to the RPO Office or mail a donation to: RPO Annual Campaign, 108 East Avenue, Rochester, NY 14604.
