Vocalists Noll and LaBrecque Bring the Magic of Broadway to the Concert Stage

Rochester, NY – Two popular musical theater stars bring “100 Years of Broadway” to the Constellation-Brands Marvin Sands Performing Arts Center (CMAC) on Saturday, July 21 at 7:30 p.m. as part of the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra’s third CMAC series concert of the season, conducted by Principal Pops Conductor Jeff Tyzik.  Vocalists Christiane Noll and Doug LaBrecque, both Broadway veterans, will join the RPO under Principal Pops Conductor Jeff Tyzik to perform some of the most memorable songs from early Gilbert and Sullivan and Victor Herbert operettas to the unforgettable songs from Showboat, My Fair Lady, West Side Story, Godspell, Sweeney Todd, Cats, Jekyll & Hyde, Phantom of the Opera, Camelot and more.

The New-York born Noll made her Broadway debut starring in Jekyll & Hyde, creating the role of Emma.  She received an Ovation Award for her comedic turn as Hope Cladwell in the national tour of Urinetown, and wowed audiences again as Vanna Vane in the new musical, The Mambo Kings.  Ms. Noll has been a popular and frequent guest with symphony orchestras around the world such as the National Symphony, Cincinnati Pops, Jerusalem Symphony, Philadelphia Pops, Cleveland Orchestra, Detroit Symphony, San Francisco Symphony and Sinfonica Brasileira in Rio de Janeiro.  Ms. Noll also made her opera debut at the Kennedy Center with Plácido Domingo and the Washington National Opera in The Merry Widow as Valencienne, and supplied the singing voice of Anna in the Warner Brothers animated feature The King and I.  She has released three solo CDs, two on the Fynsworth Alley label and one on 2Die4 Records.

Doug LaBrecque has thrilled audiences as The Phantom and Raoul in the Harold Prince production of The Phantom of the Opera.  On Broadway, Mr. LaBrecque has starred as Ravenal in the revival of Showboat, was featured in Oscar Hammerstein’s 100th Birthday Celebration on Broadway, and toured nationally with Les Miserables.  An active concert performer, Mr. LaBrecque has been a soloist with the Cleveland Orchestra, and the Chicago, National, San Francisco, Houston and Pittsburgh Symphonies, among many others. He has been heard internationally with the Israel Philharmonic, Korean National Symphony, Shanghai Radio Orchestra, Brazilian Symphony and Jerusalem Symphony.
In addition, a new collaboration between the RPO and Camp Good Days will bring campers and their families to this concert at no charge.  This event was made possible thanks to a $10,000 sponsorship from Dominion Transmission,

Inc. on behalf of the Dominion Foundation, which also sponsors the “Dominion Music Series at Camp Good Days.” On July 11, July 25, August 8 and August 21, four small ensembles from the RPO will visit the camp this summer, joining the campers for dinner followed by a 45-minute concert.

CMAC tickets are $15-$50 in advance, $20-$55 at the gate. Discounts are available for seniors, students and children 12 and under. CMAC tickets are available at the RPO Box Office (585) 454-2100, online at www.rpo.org, through Ticket Express, or through Ticketmaster (585) 232-1900.  Please note: CMAC summer tickets are NOT available at Wegmans.  CMAC Box Office (Lincoln Hill Road, Canandaigua) will be open on concert days from noon to concert start, and Fridays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. beginning July 6.  The final RPO CMAC concerts will take place on Saturday, July 28.
