Interim Director of Development Announced at the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra

Rochester, NY – The Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra has announced the appointment of Sara Niemeyer – Manager of Major Gifts & Donor Relations – to the position of Interim Director of Development during the search for a permanent replacement for Janet Newcomb, former VP of Development.
According to Charles Owens, the RPO’s President & CEO, Ms. Niemeyer has assumed this position informally since Ms. Newcomb’s departure at the end of September. “I have been particularly impressed with her leadership of the Annual Campaign,” he said. “Despite several development staff openings, the Campaign continues to track well against our targets for FY08 and in year-over-year comparisons with FY07.” Sara also initiated the $285,000 85th Anniversary Fund, a challenge program which to date has yielded $165,000 in new and increased annual giving.
In addition, part-time Assistant Director of Marketing and Public Relations Janice Hanson has become full-time as Manager of Marketing and Electronic Communication, effective immediately. In her expanded role, she will continue to oversee the award-winning RPO website and take on more marketing and advertising projects.
