RPO's Campaign Goal "Almost There"
June 13, 2006
Only $130,000 needed to meet $2.16 million
Rochester, NY; June 13, 2006 – The Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra has announced that it is “almost there” in reaching its annual campaign goal, and needs approximately $130,000 to reach its goal of $2.16 million. Timing is crucial, as there is an extra financial incentive looming. “We’re very fortunate that an anonymous donor has promised a generous bonus of $150,000 if we meet our goal by June 30th,” said Richard Nowlin, President and CEO of the RPO. “As always, every dollar and every donor counts.”
The RPO has received donations from more than 6800 individuals and corporations in the form of first time and additional gifts as well as renewals, ranging from $1 to $50, 000. Since the Orchestra’s printing of its most recent postcard just two weeks ago on May 26, there has been a further $50,000 brought in. A recent donor made it clear why: “The RPO is indeed a treasure for all to enjoy and appreciate.”
The RPO looks forward to beginning its summer season in July having met its Annual Campaign goal. Upon its return from its Vail, Colorado residency, the Orchestra kicks off the summer season on July 7 at SUNY Geneseo, followed a day later by the four Saturday concert series at the new Constellation Brands-Marvin Sands Performing Arts Center (CMAC) on July 8, with many more summer appearances throughout the month. To donate, please call (585) 454-7311, x247, visit www.rpo.org to give online (secure transaction), come to the RPO Office or mail a donation to: RPO Annual Campaign, 108 East Avenue, Rochester, NY 14604.
