Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra to Honor Syracuse Symphony Tickets This Spring
March 30, 2011
ROCHESTER, NY - The Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra (RPO) announced today that the Orchestra will honor Syracuse Symphony tickets (SSO), for select RPO performances this spring. Due to financial challenges, the SSO is suspending its operations on Monday, April 4th and has cancelled the remainder of its concerts this season.
“It’s incredibly sad to see another Orchestra suspend its operations — especially in our own upstate backyard. We have always valued our relationship with our colleagues and friends within the Syracuse Symphony and our thoughts are with their musicians, patrons, staff, and board during this difficult transition period. We are reaching out with this offer to SSO ticket holders because the RPO believes in the power of music, especially in difficult times, and we want to make sure music lovers in Syracuse have the opportunity to continue to experience great music,” remarked Charlie Owens, RPO President & CEO.
Syracuse Symphony tickets holders may call the Eastman Theatre Box Office at 585-454-2100 to “trade-in” their tickets and reserve their seats for the following RPO performances:
- Brahms Requiem – April 7 and 9, 2011 (Kodak Hall)
- Musical Milestones: Milestones in Christopher’s Life – April 8 and 10, 2011 (Hochstein)
- The Gospel According to Jazz – April 15 and 16, 2011 (Kodak Hall)
- Scheherazade – April 28 and 30, 2011 (Kodak Hall)
- Mozart’s Clarinet Concerto – May 5 and 7, 2011 (Kodak Hall)
- Symphony 201 – May 8, 2011 (Kodak Hall)
