Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra Announces Mark Berry as Vice President of Marketing and Communications

ROCHESTER – The Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra (RPO) announced today the appointment of Mark Berry as Vice President of Marketing and Communications, effective January 23, 2012.

Berry comes to the RPO from Carnegie Hall in New York City, where he has served in the Marketing Department for the last four years, first as Assistant Editorial Director and most recently as Head Writer. He previously was Publicist (North America) with the recording label Naxos of America and Marketing Manager for the Orchestra of St. Luke’s. He received his Bachelor of Music (Music History and Literature) degree from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and his Ph.D. (Music History and Theory) from Stony Brook University on Long Island.

In his new role, Berry will develop the strategy for and manage all components of the annual subscription and single-ticket campaigns for the more than 80 concerts annually that comprise the Orchestra’s Philharmonics, Pops, orKIDStra, Symphony 101, and summer series. The position, along with a team of six direct reports, is responsible for the development and production of marketing collateral and communicating the overall RPO brand regionally and nationally.
