RPO CELEBRATES AMERICA JULY 3rd AT CMAC
America’s best-loved composers, patriotic favorites & fireworks

Rochester, NY – On Wednesday, July 3 at 8 p.m., the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra (RPO) returns to the Constellation Brands-Marvin Sands Performing Arts Center (CMAC) near Canandaigua, NY, for Celebrate America with the RPO. The concert of crowd-pleasing favorites features the perennial Independence Day classics, Stars and Stripes Forever and the 1812 Overture, along with iconic music by several of America’s best-loved composers, including John Williams, Aaron Copland, George Gershwin and John Philip Sousa. The evening culminates with a spectacular fireworks display over the picturesque CMAC lawn.

“We’re glad to be back at CMAC this summer with a family-friendly program of patriotic favorites and other American classics,” says RPO President and CEO Charles Owens. “It’s a great way to kick off the Fourth of July holiday.”

Tickets for Celebrate America with the RPO range from just $15 for lawn seats (admission on the lawn is free for children under 12) to $50, and are available at ticketmaster.com or 800-745-3000, at CMACevents.com, and at the Blue Cross Arena Box Office (One War Memorial Square or 585-758-5330).

The Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra has been committed to enriching and inspiring our community through the art of music since its founding in 1922. The RPO presents up to 150 concerts a year, serving nearly 200,000 people through ticketed events, education and community engagement activities, and concerts in schools and community centers throughout the region. Notable former music directors include Eugene Goossens, José Iturbi, Erich Leinsdorf, David Zinman, and Conductor Laureate Christopher Seaman; Principal Pops Conductor Jeff Tyzik has earned a national reputation for excellence in pops programming during his 19-year tenure with the RPO. With Michael Butterman as Principal Conductor for Education and Outreach (The Louise and Henry Epstein Family Chair) – the first position of its kind in the country – the RPO reaches over 12,000 children through its specific programs for school-aged children.
