Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra Announces New Appointment

Rochester, N.Y.; March 7, 2006 – The Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra is pleased to announce the appointment of Jason Chai-Soong Wang to the position of section cello. He replaces Peter Wukovitz, who retired at the end of the 2004-05 Season. Mr. Wang is a graduate of Case Western Reserve University with a Masters in Music from the Eastman School of Music. He is currently studying with Alan Harris at the Eastman School for his Doctor of Musical Arts degree. Previous principal teachers include David Ying, Stephen Harrison, Michel Strauss and Richard Aaron. A substitute cellist for the RPO since 2003, he is pleased to be joining the Orchestra full-time.
