RPO Names Thomas Posavac as New Artistic Coordinator

Rochester, NY – The Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra is pleased to announce that Thomas Posavac joined the RPO staff on August 7, 2006 as its new Artistic Coordinator.

Working within the Artistic Operations Department, Posavac will manage and coordinate all arrangements for the Orchestra’s guest artists, maintain the RPO’s guest artist database and archival recordings, assist with researching artists, repertoire and other artistic initiatives, and provide general support to the Artistic Operations department.  For the past few years, Posavac has worked in the Events Office at the Krannert Center for the Performing Arts at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where he is finishing his Doctorate of Musical Arts in Trombone Performance.   

RPO Artistic Director Andy Cassano is extremely pleased with this appointment. “We are looking forward to the addition of this new position to an already busy department,” says Cassano.  “Thomas’ impressive organizational skills and musical background will be of great benefit to us.”  This new hire is part of the investment in the Orchestra’s administrative infrastructure, helping to fulfill its strategic initiatives plan.

Posavac received his Bachelor of Music degree in 1998 from the University of Texas at Arlington, and his Master of Music degree in Trombone Performance from Texas Christian University in 2001 where he was a member of the academic Pi Kappa Lambda Society.
