RPO ANNOUNCES NEW VP OF DEVELOPMENT
Domenic Argentieri brings wealth of experience to vital position

Rochester, NY – The Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra (RPO) announces the appointment of Domenic Argentieri as its Vice President of Development, effective December 1, 2016.

With 10 years of experience as a development professional that includes securing millions of dollars of donor commitments, Argentieri most recently managed a multi-million-dollar capital campaign as an Executive Director of Development for Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead, NY. He also served as an Annual Fund and Major Gifts Officer at the University of Rochester for more than seven years, and joined the RPO as its Major Gifts Officer in July of 2016.

“He immediately proved his value in our efforts to connect with potential donors,” says RPO President & CEO Ralph Craviso. “With his leadership and experience, we were able to announce a $250,000 Community Challenge last week to help us reach our goal for fiscal 2017:  a balanced budget.”

Argentieri will also lead the enhancement of the RPO’s development practices, to ensure that donor stewardship and engagement are best-in-class in the Rochester community.

“We are establishing a successful culture of philanthropy for the RPO in the community,” says Argentieri, a native of NY’s Southern Tier and an Alfred University alumnus. “As VP of Development, I look forward to leading a dedicated team that engages all patrons, donors, and corporate sponsors with first-class customer service and personalized donor stewardship.”

One of Argentieri’s first jobs will be to fill his former position with another skilled fundraising professional. This will complete the RPO’s plan to create a high-performance, revenue-producing development team to focus on achieving continued balanced budgets.

The Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra (RPO) has been committed to enriching and inspiring our community through the art of music since its founding in 1922. The RPO presents approximately 150 concerts and broadcasts a year, serving up to 170,000 people through ticketed events, education and community engagement activities, and concerts in schools and community centers throughout the region. 12th Music Director Ward Stare joins the ranks of former notable RPO music directors, including Eugene Goossens, José Iturbi, Erich Leinsdorf, David Zinman and Conductor Laureate Christopher Seaman. Principal Pops Conductor Jeff Tyzik has earned a national reputation for excellence in pops programming during his 22-year tenure with the RPO. With Michael Butterman as Principal Conductor for Education and Community Engagement (The Louise and Henry Epstein Family Chair) – the first endowed position of its kind in the country – the RPO reaches more than 16,000 children through its specific programs for school-aged children.
