MOZART Requiem (Sussmayer Edition)
Mozart’s genius burns with brooding intensity in the now-legendary Requiem that was to become his own funeral music, a centerpiece in the film Amadeus. Its intricate textures are mirrored by Hovhaness’ Fugue and Stravinsky’s self-proclaimed “War Symphony,” a razor-edged reflection of the atrocities of the age.
