Virtual Tour of Symphony Showhouse 2004

Welcome to a Virtual Tour of Symphony Showhouse 2004

The Historic Perkins Mansion, 494 East Avenue, Rochester NY
(Home of the American Association of University Women, Rochester Chapter)

Interior designers decorated 38 rooms and spaces over three floors for this RPO benefit event, which took place May 29 through June 20, 2004 and benefitted the RPO's Education Programs.

The stately brick mansion offers a perfect blend of local history and understated sophistication. The house was built in 1906 for Elizabeth Tompkins Ginna Perkins as a wedding gift from her parents. In 1946 Mrs. Perkins deeded the house to the American Association of University Women, which owns and operates the property.

The value of furnishings, art and designer treatments of walls, ceilings and floors was in excess of $886,000. Additionally, many in-kind gifts from contractors made this spectacular show possible: notably the restoration of the original three-story staircase by Ketmar Development Corporation and electrical upgrades by Current Service.
