Welcome Arild Remmereit, the RPO's New Music Director!
George Eastman led the challenge some 90 years ago. For Rochester to establish its own Orchestra. To develop its own conservatory. And to build a home that would nurture them both. From generation to generation.
Rochester embraced his challenge across those decades. Howard Hanson, Frederick Fennell, Erich Leinsdorf, David Zinman, Christopher Seaman, Jeff Tyzik – all have elevated Rochester’s musical life.
Now, Arild Remmereit accepts the challenge. He has already shown how he will energize the masterworks in way that is fresh and thrilling. And he has promised to bring us great music we will be eager to get to know.
He will bring us new discoveries alongside familiar music we’ll be re-discovering. And we’ll be creating classics together.
