Rebecca Farley Witty

Rebecca Farley Witty is a promising young soprano making her way from conservatory to concert hall and opera stage. She received a Master’s in Vocal Performance and Literature from the Eastman School of Music studying with professor Carol Webber.

While at Eastman, she performed the roles of the Countess in The Marriage of Figaro and the title role in Sister Angelica. She also received the 2009 Renee Fleming Award and placed third in the Friends of Eastman Opera competition. Chosen as the Concerto Competition winner in 2010, she was honored to sing with the Eastman Philharmonic under the baton of Neil Varon. Shortly thereafter, she was sent to the Kennedy Center to represent Eastman in the Kennedy Center’s “Conservatory Project.”

This past summer, Witty returned for a second season as a Young Artist with the Des Moines Metro Opera company, where she covered the role of Madame Lindoine in Dialogues of the Carmelites and performed scenes from Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg, Der Rosenkavalier, Fidelio, The Mother of Us All, and Lohengrin.
