Noelle McMurtry

McMurtry_Noelle_web.jpgSoprano Noelle McMurtry is in the second year of her M.M in Vocal Performance degree at the Eastman School of Music, studying with Professor Rita Shane. A native of Connecticut, she received her B.A. from Vassar College where she performed the role of Cinderella in Into the Woods with Vassar Experimental Theater, as well as the role of Cendrillon in Pauline Viardot’s Cendrillon. This past summer, McMurtry played the role of Rosana in Scarlatti’s La principessa fedele at Amherst Early Music Festival. As a student at Eastman, she has performed the role of Venus in Blow’s Venus and Adonis with Collegium and received Honorable Mention in the Jesse Kneisel Lieder Competition. McMurtry made her Eastman Opera Theater debut as a chorus member in Manon last spring and recently performed the role of Lynette "Squeaky" Fromme in Sondheim's Assassins. She is incredibly honored and excited to make her debut with the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra.
