You’re in for a rare treat, Rochester. John Lill, the greatest of all British pianists, makes his debut appearance with your RPO. His mastery of the piano is brilliant: he has a magical way of bringing out the greatness of the music. Schumann’s Symphony No. 2 depicts the triumph of the human spirit, and is a perfect transition to Brahms’ Piano Concerto No. 1 with all its majesty and monument.
