Explore the foundation of American jazz ― the blues ― with your RPO. Trumpet virtuoso Byron Stripling is well-known for solo performances with top orchestras and his uncanny portrayal of the great Louis Armstrong. Wycliffe Gordon is an amazing trombone player and regularly plays with Wynton Marsalis and the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra. Dee Daniels sings with full-bodied silky tones that capture the height and depth of her four-octave range. She’ll belt out warm versions of your favorite tunes by Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong and Fats Waller.
