What other orchestras have you performed with? NY Philharmonic, Philadelphia Orchestra, Seattle Symphony, Virginia Symphony, and the Charleston Symphony Orchestra
What types of music do you like to listen to? anything with an interesting bass line is fine by me...
Do you have a pet? Yes, a one-eyed cat named Lucy who was adopted from the New York City Humane Society.
Biography
A native of Clarence, NY, Craig Sutherland was appointed Principal Tubist of the RPO in 2004. Prior to joining the RPO, he served as Tubist with the Charleston Symphony Orchestra. Shortly after receiving his bachelor’s degree in Music Education from the University of Michigan, Mr. Sutherland served as Principal Tubist with the Hofer Symphoniker and Rekkenze Brass Quintet in Hof, Germany. He earned his master’s degree at The Juilliard School and is currently on faculty at Roberts Wesleyan College, Houghton College, and the Eastman Community Music School.
