RPO Musicians’ Awards for Outstanding Music Educators
The RPO Musicians’ Awards for Outstanding Music Educators honor music educators in public and private schools from the city of Rochester and the nine-county surrounding area.
Nominations are now being accepted until December 13, 2011 for the 2012 Award. See below to download the printable nomination form and a complete listing of past winners.
The purpose of the RPO Musicians' Awards is to honor outstanding music educators through the presentation of annual awards and to enhance the understanding and communication between the professional musicians of the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra and the music educators of the Rochester area.
A committee of RPO musicians and area music educators selected the award winners from among the nominations submitted. The Awards will be presented at the RPO Philharmonics concert in Kodak Hall at Eastman Theatre on May 10, 2012. This concert is dedicated to those educators who inspire, encourage and challenge young musicians on a daily basis. Winners will receive complimentary tickets to the concert, and the musicians of the RPO will host a post-concert celebration in their honor.
ELIGIBILITY
Each nominee for an Award must be a currently employed, certified music educator in a public, parochial or private school in grades K-12 in one of the following counties: Genesee, Livingston, Monroe, Ontario, Orleans, Seneca, Wayne, Wyoming, or Yates. Members of the Awards Committee are not eligible to receive an award until the second year following service on the committee. Past winners are not eligible.
The RPO Musicians’ Awards for Outstanding Music Educators are sponsored by Jeff Reimer Piano Service.
