Music Collaborative (artists-in-residence)

Developed in partnership between the RPO and the Rochester City School District, Music Collaborative provides 240 fourth and fifth graders with meaningful music and arts experiences by professional role models through a 10-session series of residencies. Through the residencies, students are introduced to various styles of orchestral repertoire and improve listening skills by learning to identify and understand elements of music. The residencies are designed to develop relationships with the school community, assist teachers in correlating music with language arts and social studies curricula and culminate in an RPO Intermediate Concert at the Eastman Theatre.
