Young Artist Auditions

Young Artist Auditions

About the Young Artist Auditions
:

For over 50 years, the Rochester Philharmonic League has annually sponsored the Young Artist Auditions. These auditions grant talented high school musicians the chance to perform for professional judges, and to win a variety of awards and scholarships.

Five cash awards of $500 are offered for male vocalist, female vocalist, strings, piano and instrumental (woodwind, brass, percussion, harp or guitar). Two $1,000 scholarships are offered for high school seniors who plan to major in music at an accredited college or university. This scholarship is to be used to pay for future musical education (lessons, camp tuition, etc).

Vocal contestants must be in grades 11-12. All other awards are open to contestants in grades 10-12. Contestants may not compete for an Award which they have previously won. Contestants must reside or study music in Monroe, Livingston, Orleans, Genesee, Ontario, Wyoming, Yates, Seneca or Wayne county.

The RPL supports the education and outreach programs of the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra.
