Need a Lift?
The Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra is excited to announce a program that can provide transportation from patrons’ homes to scheduled RPO concerts. Several drivers associated with Lifespan/RSVP, the volunteer mobilizing program for adults over the age of 55, have offered to volunteer their time to provide rides for a limited number of RPO patrons who can no longer drive themselves. The volunteer drivers have been trained by and are registered with Lifespan/RSVP. The program is offered for Monroe County, depending on driver availability.
Each volunteer driver can transport up to three passengers from one residence to an RPO concert, and will return them to that residence after the concert. Passengers will be dropped off at the Gibbs Street entrance to the Eastman Theatre, and will be picked up there following the performance. All passengers must be age 55 or over. All must be able to enter and exit the vehicle with only normal assistance. The drivers would not be able to take patrons who use wheelchairs, or who would need any type of lift in or out of the vehicle. Use of the service will depend on driver availability.
If you are interested in using this program, please contact Sarah Goldstein Post at (585) 454-7311 x 243 or e-mail spost@rpo.org.
