Michelle Areyzaga
Michelle Areyzaga debuted with Chicago Opera Theatre in The Kaiser of Atlantis and has since demonstrated her vocal dexterity in diverse operatic roles and concert appearances. Most recently she debuted with Opera Birmingham in the role of Zerlina, and was seen on public television as Pamina in Chicago’s Silk Road Initiative. In 2006, Pioneer Press named her Chicago’s “Artist of the Year.”
In concert, Ms. Areyzaga recently performed in Gustavo Leone’s Mundo at the Grant Park Music Festival. She sang in Bernstein on Broadway during the Cleveland Orchestra’s Blossom Festival and at the Tilles Center on Long Island.
Ms. Areyzaga performs songs by American composer Gwyneth Walker on her disc The Sun Is Love, released on the Proteus label. Her current recording projects feature the songs of Lita Grier and William Ferris.
