Katherine Edinger is a high honor junior at Greece Athena and a member of Select Choir (Soprano Section Leader), Show Choir, and the musicals. Katie is a winner of GPAS vocal competitions, winner of “Maestro” Award for Outstanding Soloist (Heritage), runner-up for the Rochester Philharmonic League’s Young Artist Auditions, and member of the 2008 All-State Choir. She studies voice at school with Judith A. Ranaletta and privately with Dr. Robert Shewan.

A senior at Summit Christian Academy, Christen Greer lives in Brighton and plans to pursue violin performance in college. She currently studies with Zvi Zeitlin, Distinguished Professor of Violin at the Eastman School of Music. In addition to the Rochester Philharmonic Youth Orchestra and RPYO Chamber Orchestra, Christy has been active in various other orchestras and performing ensembles such as the Lyric Chorale and Finger Lakes Chorale Orchestras, EPG Film Productions Orchestra, and the Equinox Symphony Orchestra.

Kate Lee is a junior holding high honors with distinction at Webster Schroeder High School. She studies violin with Alice Kanack and voice with Kayleen Follman. She is a proud member of the Rochester Philharmonic Youth Orchestra, under the direction of Dr. David Harman. Kate Lee is also a singer/songwriter, fiddler, and leader of her band, No Strings Attached, performing twice at Nashville’s famous Bluebird Café.

A ninth-grader at Alexander High School, Emily has thrilled audiences throughout Western New York and Canada, singing for such causes as The Patricia Parete Benefit, Operation Good Neighbor, and Roswell Park. Emily debuted as soloist with the Ars Nova Musicians in 2007 and with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra in this year’s annual holiday concerts. Emily is a scholarship student at the Eastman Community Music School where she studies with Patricia Alexander.

Katrina King, a homeschooled senior from Marion, has been playing flute for five years. She currently studies with Kathryn Scarbrough at the Hochstein School of Music, where she is principal flutist for the Hochstein Youth Symphony Orchestra and a member of the Honors Certificate Program. She has won numerous competitions and merit awards, and has spent the last two summers at Boston University Tanglewood Institute’s Young Artist Orchestra. Katrina plans to pursue a career in flute performance.

Sarah Kramer currently studies harp with Professor Kathleen Bride at the Eastman School of Music. She initially studied with Ms. Roxanne Ziegler and more recently with Ms. Grace Wong. Sarah is a harpist with the Rochester Philharmonic Youth Orchestra and principal harpist with the University of Rochester Symphony Orchestra. She lives in Brighton and is a junior at the Harley School. Sarah plans to major in Harp Performance and International Studies when she attends college.

Sixteen-year-old trumpet player Demian Spindler is an 11th grader at Allendale Columbia School. Demian studies with RPO trumpeter Wesley Nance at the Eastman Community Music School, where he is a scholarship student in the Diploma program. He is a member of the Hochstein Youth Symphony Orchestra and Eastman’s Trumpet Ensemble. He won first place in the Rochester Philharmonic League Young Artist Awards last spring, as well as placing third in the 2009 National Trumpet Competition.

DeAnne Stewart is an accomplished senior at Greece Athena High School and currently studies with Judith Ranaletta in voice and acting. She has performed in more than 10 productions including most recently West Side Story (Rosalia), RENT (Maureen Johnson), and Can Anybody Hear Me? (Tashae Janakin). DeAnne is a member of the nationally recognized Greece Athena Select and Show Choirs, as well as a two-time winner of the Nazareth College Barbara Staropoli Competition.

Louisa Womack is a homeschooled junior living in Penfield. She currently studies with James VanDemark, Professor of the Eastman School of Music, and was previously a student of Rochester Philharmonic Bassist Gaelen McCormick. Louisa has participated in various chamber and orchestral groups, including the Rochester Youth Philharmonic Orchestra, the Nazareth College Symphony Orchestra, Hochstein Youth Symphony Orchestra, the Greater Rochester Women’s Philharmonic Orchestra, the Equinox Symphony Orchestra, and the Eastman Youth Chamber Soloists.
