Charles Reid

Charles Reid recently made his debut as Nemorino in L’elisir d’amore at the National Theater Mannheim.  He also has recently appeared as Kunz Vogelgesang in Katharina Wagner’s production of Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg. In addition to nine seasons with the Metropolitan Opera, other U.S. opera highlights include performances with San Francisco Opera, Connecticut Opera, Spoleto Festival USA, and Sarasota Opera.  Mr. Reid’s discography includes a DVD from the Salzburger Festspiele, singing Aceste in Mozart’s Ascanio in Alba, on Deutsche Grammophon. Mr. Reid is also on Gothic Records singing the tenor solos in Alice Parker’s Melodious Accord with the Master Chorale of Washington. He is the recipient of prestigious awards from the Richard Tucker Music Foundation, Loren L. Zachary National Vocal Competition, Florida Grand Opera YPO Competition, Connecticut Opera Competition, and the Marjorie Lawrence International Vocal Competition.
