Christina Pier
 American soprano Christina Pier has performed leading roles with the Santa Fe Opera, Florida Grand Opera, Minnesota Opera, Nashville Opera, Princeton Festival, Eugene Opera, and understudied two roles with Lyric Opera Chicago. A consummate Mozartarian, Pier has appeared as Donna Anna in Don Giovanni, Pamina in The Magic Flute, Countess in The Marriage of Figaro, and Fiordiligi in Cosi fan tutte. She has also sung Micaëla in Carmen and Marguerite in Gounod’s Faust.
The 2010-11 season marks Pier’s debut at Sarasota Opera as Donna Anna in Mozart’s Don Giovanni. She will be heard with the Alabama Symphony in Mozart’s Great Mass in C Minor, the Indianapolis Symphony performing Handel’s Messiah, and with the Hartford Symphony Orchestra performing Ravel’s Shéhérazade.
Originally from Flagstaff, Ariz., Pier received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Music at Indiana University where she studied with Virginia Zeani. She is currently a member of the voice faculty at Catawba College.
