Mike Lee

Since his debut with the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra at age 16, New Zealand pianist Mike Lee has performed in major concert venues, including those in Boston, Fort Worth, Auckland, and Taipei as a concerto soloist as well as a recitalist. In addition to his orchestral and recital appearances, Lee is also an active chamber musician. He has been invited to participate in festivals such as Sarasota, Kneisel Hall, and the Cliburn Institute. He has worked closely with many world-renowned chamber musicians such as Claude Frank, Peter Frankl, and members of the Tokyo String Quartet.

In addition to his performing activities, Lee has served as lecturer of music theory at Yale University and has given talks at the Society of Music Theory, the New England Conference of Music Theorists, as well as Yale, Indiana-Bloomington, and Cornell Universities. Lee graduated from the Yale School of Music where he was a student of Boris Berman and Michael Friedmann. He is currently a graduate student at Cornell studying under Malcolm Bilson.
