Maureen McGovern

McGovern_Maureen.jpgMaureen McGovern’s nearly 40-year career includes recordings, concerts, theater, film, television, radio, and songwriting, all with a voice that defies categorization. McGovern’s recording career began with the Oscar-winning The Morning After and We May Never Love Like This Again from the classic disaster films, The Poseidon Adventure and The Towering Inferno. Other critically acclaimed recordings include songwriter tributes to George Gershwin, Harold Arlen, Richard Rodgers, and Alan and Marilyn Bergman, and her solo piano/voice albums Another Woman In Love and The Pleasure of His Company. Grammy nominated for "Best New Artist" (1973) and "Best Traditional Pop Vocal Performance" (1998), she is a guest artist on the Grammy Award-winning CD/DVD Songs from the Neighborhood: The Music of Mister Rogers. McGovern has performed on the Broadway stage in productions such as The Pirates of Penzance and Little Women, The Musical, and has appeared in several feature films, including Airplane! Her most recent CD, A Long and Winding Road, was released in 2008 to great acclaim.
