Soprano Kara Mulder, a Philadelphia native, made her stage debut as a supernumerary for the Opera Company of Philadelphia’s production of Norma at the age of four. While attending the Girard Academic Music Program, Mulder performed as Anna in The King and I, Maria in The Sound of Music, and Velma Vantussel in Hairspray. She performs with the Ocean City Pops in New Jersey each summer. Mulder is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Music in voice performance at the Eastman School of Music with voice teacher Dr. Robert McIver. Most recently, she has performed Bach’s Magnificat with the Upper Dublin Choristers of Philadelphia. This year, she is happy to have been a part of Eastman’s productions Street Scene and She Loves Me with the voice and opera department. This is her RPO debut.
