Kendra Wieneke
Kendra Wieneke, mezzo-soprano, makes her RPO debut in Bach’s Magnificat. She earned a Bachelor of Music in music education from Eastman School of Music in 2011 and is currently pursuing a Master of Music in voice at Eastman under the tutelage of Carol Webber. She has performed the roles of Bianca (The Rape of Lucretia), Anne (To Hell and Back), and Second Lay-Sister (Suor Angelica) as well as scenes as Rosina (The Barber of Seville), Dorabella (Così fan tutte), Cherubino (The Marriage of Figaro), Alisa (Lucia di Lammermoor), and Dinah (Trouble in Tahiti). She has received additional training as an emerging artist with the Vancouver International Song Institute and Le Chiavi di Bel Canto institute at the Texas Music Festival, and as an advanced artist with OperaWorks in Los Angeles, where she created the role of Kendra in the world premiere of Zombie Apoco-Lips: The Opera. She will appear as the title role in Handel’s Serse with Eastman Opera Theatre in January and February of 2014.
