Rochester's own Mambo Kings join the Orchestra for the second concert at Vail.

The other members of The Mambo Kings are John Viavattine on the saxophone, Freddy Colon on drums, David Antonetti on congas and bongos and Hector Diaz on bass.

Anne Akiko Meyers in rehearsal for John Corigliano's Chaconne from The Red Violin.
Christopher  Seaman also conducted the Orchestra in Mendelssohn's "Fingal's Cave" Overture and Brahms' Symphony No. 2.


Ms. Meyers' powerful performance brought  the audience to their feet.

The RPO is joined by New Mexico Symphony Orchestra Chorus for Mozart's Requiem. The program also included Mozart's "Jupiter" Symphony.


Featured soloists in Requiem were Laura Whalen, soparano; Anita Krause, mezzo soprano; Michael Colvin, tenor; and Gary Relyea, bass-baritone.

Baritone Daniel Narducci joins Jeff Tyzik and the Orchestra
 Daniel Narducci sings songs from Man of La Mancha and Camelot.


Jeff Tyzik takes out his trumpet and is joined by clarinetist Kenny grant and trombonist Mark Kellogg.
 They played Jelly Roll Morton's Jungle Blues and Royal Garden Blues by Spencer Willaims.


The shell and the lawn are packed for Tuesday's sold-out patriotic concert.
 The audience has their flags at teh ready for patriotic numbers like American Anthem, God Bless Amercia and Stars and Stripes Forever.
